The Queen of Soul's new album, Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, is her first studio release in three years, and her first for a major label since 2003 So Damn Happy. The album reunites her with Sony Music Entertainment chief creative officer Clive Davis, with whom she worked for 23 years at Arista Records. In the 1980s, Davis helped revive a career that had stalled after her epochal '60s and '70s run with Jerry Wexler and Atlantic Records that produced such rock'n'roll landmarks as "Respect" and "Chain of Fools," among many others.
The Forever Charlie Tour kicks off in February in Cleveland, OH with opening sets by R&B artist Kem and Joe. The tour will be hitting venues coast-to-coast, with stops scheduled for Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, New York City and Washington, DC for a total of 27 shows in 26 cities. The show wraps March in Oakland, CA.
Sam Smith one of the biggest international superstars nominated for multiple awards and having one of the best-selling albums of 2014 has announced his 2015 tour for North America. The tour is scheduled to start January 9th in Atlanta and wrap February 4th in Vancouver. It includes scheduled stops at major US venues like Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House, New York's Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles' The Forum and St. Paul Minnesota January 24th @ Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

Chris Brown had to postpone the start of his “Between the Sheets” tour after a Los Angeles judge denied his request for a waiver to allow him to travel. Brown’s probation, stemming from his conviction for assaulting Rihanna in 2009, was revoked when he violated the provision that he stay put in Los Angeles County. Chris stated“The judge would not sign off on my travel to do the tour until I finish these last 100 hours of community service and that the dates would be “just moved around a couple weeks.”
Stevie Wonder will be executive producer of a new musical miniseries based on Betty DeRamusbook “Forbidden Fruit: Love Stories from the Underground Railroad.”Wonder is developing a eight-hour project, tentatively titled “Freedom Run.” centering on the story of an underground 19th century passage route through a series of love stories highlighting the men and women attempting to escape slavery. NBC is set to air the musical series and Jennifer Salke entertainment division president stated We’re honored to be adapting this emotionally affecting book in a television event.”
